He is an interesting Representative who in my opinion is one the most blantly bought off members in congress. He is the example of what is wrong with congress. They are paid off by corporations, and do as little as possible to actually represent the needs of their constituents. While they pass bills wrapped up in with names that seem like they are representing the interest of the people, they are in fact not.

Lets start off with his anti-marijuana stance. He doesn't even believe in municipal use of marijuana. If opiates are allowed to be used for medicine, and there is a legitimate use for THC, then I don't have problem with it. People abuse pain killers but we allow their legal use still. If someone has a medical need for Marijuana then I really don't oppose it, just like I don't oppose pain killers for those that have medical need for it. Get a legitimate prescription from legitimate doctor for either, I'm good to go.

Lamar Smith opposes any form of legal marijuana use. Now just being oppose to it wouldn't bother me, but when Legislation came up, he received over $100K in donations from the Beer, Wine and Liquor Lobby to oppose it. He accepts money from the lobby who's industry depends on people get high(drunk) all the time to oppose an industry that does the same thing, but also has could have direct medical benefits. I believe his opinion is a conflict interest based upon the donations he receives. SO he is okay with the industry that contributed to 1235 deaths in his state in 2009 but he is opposed to an industry that helps cancer and glaucoma patients.

This is just one example of many how he is a bought and paid for member of congress.

Lamar Smith was a sponsor of SOPA which was stopped. But as quickly as it was he reinvented it with a different name called Protecting Children From Internet Pornographers Act of 2011. On the surface I am all about protecting Children from being victims of Pedophiles or any kind of exploitation of any kind. However, I don't assume everyone guilty of being a pedophile until proven they are innocent, which is exactly what this bill does. I personally think it is falsely saying it is about protecting children and is more about giving the government a way to take away your civil liberties. It is the method it suppose to use that I oppose. Do you think that the Government has the right to track every car in America where it goes, in order to prevent child abductions? Or would you feel that is a violation of your Civil liberties. This bill is exactly that in internet form. This bill wants your internet providers to keep a record of every Credit Card transaction, phone call you make, email you place, facebook message you make, any bill that comes to you via the internet, any chat message you have for 18 months.

This bill allows any law enforcement agency with any reason to look at those records. This bill protects your internet providers from any prosecution, even if your information is hacked. There are no security requirements required by the government in this bill. So your ISP will be required to keep 18 months of records on each of its subscribers, and they will be required to pay for that storage themselves. So basically you will be paying your internet service to spy on you, and keep all your financial and personal records by the cheapest means necessary for the government.

I mean lets face it whats going to stop a Cop from looking up people he knows just because he can. Whats going to stop people from paying a law enforcement person from taking a look to see what your buying. Are we to trust that everyone in every Law Enforcement will not use this for extortion purposes. Why isn't their provisions to protect even a little bit of the privacy this holds on each and every American.

The way the provisions are written in this bill all you have to do is be accused of child pornography and then by discovery all the things you do via the internet can be reviewed. This could be in a divorce. Or someone who opposes you in a political race. Or someone your competing for a position with in the same company. And since everything is done by computer today, and is transferred by the Internet, every record every where will be legally stored by the government on you. When you charge a credit card from a restaurant, it is transferred via internet to the bank. That the same for every store.

But if your asking me, it's just Lamar Smith way of providing a method for his Hollywood RIAA buddies to have a way to violate your civil rights now that SOPA is not going to work. IF Lamar Smith thinks this is such a great way of "Protecting the Children" by allowing the Government to see everything we have done in the last 18 months, then I suggest he open up all of his credit card records, telephone calls, internet use, and everything else the internet has been used directly or indirectly by him and let the public see it. This includes all of his bank records since that information is transferred via the internet.

How SOPA, PIPA, and ACTA are the newest version of SLAPP

SOPA, PIPA, and ACTA are acronyms in today's news but what is SLAPP? Well the old way corporations and government entities used to censor you into silence was the use of litigation that was called Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation, SLAPP. They become such a problem that they plagued the court system and also were abusing the civil rights of individuals. Many states and a couple of federal laws were established to help protect the public from this abusive practice. I would highly recommend everyone hit google and search SLAPP lawsuits.

The reason I mention SLAPP is that a legitimate legal remedy was abused to a point it started to abuse people rights to free speech and even access to public government. The first laws to stop SLAPP lawsuits were to allow citizens to publish minutes of city council meetings on the internet. There were many SLAPP suits that were used to keep people quiet from speaking out. Most under the guise of protecting copyrights. A lot of people were posting complaints on the internet and getting sued for it. Usually for very large amounts, and a whole list of libel and intellectual property rights violations .The intellectual property violations were for simply stating the name of the product or company you were having an issue with.

Those lawsuits got to be ridiculous and SLAPP lawsuits legislation was passed. But it was only after abuse after abuse by government and corporations entities were done.

SOPA, PIPA, and ACTA is actually requiring your internet provider to keep 1 year to 18 months of every website, credit card transaction, email sent and received, phone call or anything else you use the internet for. This isn't on the guilty, or even on the suspected guilty, its on everyone in case they become guilty later. In other words these laws are setup under the assumption you are guilty until proven innocent.

These laws do not define how these records can be accessed or by whom. In other words if you are in law enforcement for any agency, and just felt curious to look up an old girlfriend online activity and what they are doing, you can.

Back to the SLAPP suits. Imagine you want to say corporation x ripped you off. You want to sue them for the wrong they did. They say you are wrong and you have done both libel and slander against them in addition to your complaint. They have no proof of this. They can request those records being held by the internet providers and go through all your personal , private, life that had nothing to do with them. Do you think there would be abuse with this type of access ?

What about corruption? You don't think any hacker in the world would be attempted to access something that has your personal records do ya? Surely they wouldn't dare hack into something that has everyone's information and credit card transaction for the last year?

Cost? Is the government paying for this storage of data on everyone? Maintenance, security, integrity? If the government does it, we then will pay the government in taxes to take away civil liberties away. If the providers do it then we will pay increase in fees for them to do the same.

In the end, not only do we lose our privacy but open our selves up to abuses that slapp suit were but only on expontentionally more damaging.

P

Norway Timothy McVeigh

Anders Behring Breivik shows me that history can repeat itself. After living in OKC and actually witnessing the damage one deranged individual can do when his religious and political belief get wrapped up into extremism and insanity, it is hard to see it happen again. By all appearances and news stories Anders Breivik was not someone you would suspect of such a horrible crime, much like Timothy McVeigh an award winning soldier who at one time was considered a defender from Terrorist. Both believed they were fighting some sort of oppression, by becoming the most violent and horrific of all oppressors. They became what they said they were fighting against.

But in the aftermath of such horrible events, it is how we deal with such things that count. Like in Oklahoma City, the people were horrified at what they saw but they joined together immediately to help those they could. Things I remember was the white stream of people and hospital personal coming from the hospital to downtown OKC. Homeless working with people who were in suits in chains to clear ways around the building to find people.

Norway had its people too. The fact they jumped in their boats and raced over to Utoya island, to help out to me is amazing. They acted in unison, as this people in their private boats were acting together via radio first to save people, but trying to deal with the confusion and devastation of the situation. And I can imagine how incredibly hard it was to try to save people who telling the tales of police officer shooting them. And lets not forget the damage that was done with the bombing in the capital. Yet Norway said we will not let this change us.

As Oklahomans', especially those of us who had been touched by tragedy like OKC bombing, we should be able to be compassionate and understanding. We should extend an understanding prayer and helpful hand to the people of Norway that need it. Let them know of the good acts of many versus the cruel acts of one.

http://www.cnn.com/2011/WORLD/europe/07/23/norway.society.change/index.html?hpt=hp_t2
http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=369_1311404277

Bryan in madison

Well I'm up in Madison, wi visiting my kids and proud of their successes as they are getting started in their adult lives. My only real goal when raising my daughter was to pass along all the good stuff of my raising and correct all the bad ones. And my only hope for her is that she carry on this tradition. I see her going on to do great things in her life. Her fiancé is a great compliment to her. I see big things happening for him as well. When spending this holiday of thanksgiving with them, I know that my time with them, while very short, is well worth it. I spend most of my time focused on work and worries, it is nice to spend it on something else.

I always wanted to give my daughter a jump on life I didn't have. I am glad she will be able to go further than I have, not that I have stopped. I want to give her a race, and the measure will not be those things that are material, but in the heart and soul.

So it is in this that I am most thankful, the continual happiness of my daughter and her fiancé, the feeling of their happiness and the promise of their future.
Sent via BlackBerry by AT&T

A new website!

This isn't my typical blog because it is totally self serving. But I wanted to get something done and have a website up, but really didn't want to put in a bunch of work in it. So this time what I did is use the services of Wix.com. Basically a self making website place, and it has templates. I had a site up in 5 minutes, at www.bryanwilliams.org.

I didn't use the templates but I will say the ones they have, are very good templates.

For the people reading this blog from my website, let me tell you that sometimes I include music or video at http://bryanintulsa.blogspot.com, it wont show up in the RSS reader page.

Right now the site is in its basic form, and I will not be able to really have the time to update more things to until after Thanksgiving. I am planning to blog more, but I am going to add two other blogs to the mix, one about getting in shape and the other about tech or should I say geek stuff.

The Gallery is a group of pictures I either created with Gimp or photographed. The interface takes to get used to because you have to click on the next photo. It is obscene how far Andrew pursues Chris, even though Chris rejects Andrews constant pursuit. Andrew is a stalker who has been allowed to pursue Chris because of his job with the Michigans DA office. I'm sure if that if the Andrew was pursuing a woman this hard, the DA would have fired him. It's obvious that Andrew is sexually obsessive with Chris Armstrong. Since Chris has rejected time after time, his pursuit has turned bitter and he always put out contempt for Chris everywhere he can. This why he can hide his desire for Chris. He has Chris on his mind all the the time. It really hasn't stated how or why Andrew focused on him, but with these stalker types all it takes is simple little thing. Andrew may be locked on Chris lips, or infatuated with lust on Chris body, whose to say. We do know every waking moment that he isn't at work, Andrew is at Chris house, at his speeches, pursuing him all around campus. This obsession of this stalker is being masked by his claims he is doing it as a political campaign. What political campaign is involved in someone who is elected in position at the college level. Andrew Shirvell hasn't come out of the closet quit yet, but it looks like it will be soon. A normal person wouldn't want to follow anyone they way Andrew Shirvell has, except for those obsessive stalker types we here about in the news pursing celeberties they adore. Why else would a District Attorney risk so much if it wasn't for love?

I don't know Jack, and I don't want to...(how the emmys creeped me out)

REF: http://www.hbo.com/movies/you-dont-know-jack/index.html

I was watching the Emmys because I was hoping Conan O'Brien would win one and have NBC cringe in fear as to what he would say. But the eeriest thing to me was on the way Dr Jack Kevorkian received an applause and cheers. While I had no problem with a film that talked about what he had done and about the whole issue of Dr Assisted suicide looking at the moral implications of the morality of it, I took offense and found it strange that people would applaud Dr Death.

While I'm sure it was a very good film about the events and probably did a good job of showing how terminally ill people suffer, it is such a serious subject to me that it should not be taken lightly. The producer won an emmy and said that while he looked at Dr Kevorkian as a friend, he was glad he wasn't his doctor.

Al Pacino portrayed Dr Kevorkian and I'm sure he did a great job. But the applause that I'm talking about was when Dr. Kevorkian, the real Dr Kevorkian, was recognized by Al Pacino. The people gave him an applause and that just didn't set right with me. It was creepy. I don't agree with what Dr Kevorkian did when he assisted people in killing themselves, but I would feel equally creepy if they gave applause to the doctor whose job was to give lethal injections to death penalty inmates.

Administrating death should not have applause.

It is way too serious of a subject to take lightly, and it seemed so surrealistic that this man was treated in this fashion.

I can't mention this enough, I really didn't have a problem with the film, or any actor or producer receiving an award for the work they did on the film. I did have a problem with the people applauding the REAL Dr. Kevorkian. It was inappropriate to me, strange, creepy, bizarre, and kinda of sickening. -=more below video=-

I understand why some people would want to go out under their own terms, and I know people that would never want their families to be forced to take care of them if they were what they would call "being a vegetable". Its because I understand how controversial this subject matter is, that I think it's pretty serious.

And for the record, I do believe what the DR did was illegal and immoral. I can see where even if he did it once how it could happen, but this doctor continued on doing this even after he was told by a court of law not to. His arrogant attitude when he was doing it gave you that I'm a serial killer feeling. I don't think the real Dr Kevorkian treated this subject with respect, when he spoke about it publicly.

My reasoning is simple. I am strong believer that people do not need assistance when it comes to suicide. If you are able to reach out to ask someone to kill you, then you are capable of doing this yourself. With that thought in mind, I'm sure the Dr knew this as well. Whatever sickness in his mind that made him want to participate and be apart of anyone's death defies my personal moral center and makes me believe he is a serial killer. Just because the people he killed wanted him too, doesn't change the fact he killed people.

I would never cheer or applaud for someone like that.

Doctor my eyes have seen the years...

I recently spent my Sunday afternoon with an old friend and his family. Who I have known for more than half my life, and at my age that is saying something. A real friend, you know one of those that has seen you at your worst and best and still manage to stay in contact with you. The kind you look at more as family than some family you have.

Now mind you I am in my 40's and have been married since I was 20. I have a daughter that has graduated college.I have a wife who has battled life with me, and against me, loved me, hated me but most important never left me. But after meeting with my friend and hearing all the great things him and his family has done over the years it made me realize I am not as young as I was. It started to hit me when were catching up on the accomplishments of our children. Both of our kids have done really well and it forces you to realize your not the one in your 20s.

I guess because it made me think about the time when I was a kid, back when a rebel hippie and damn proud of it. When the world wasn't going to rule me, I was going to rule it.

I shouldn't complain really because I accomplish everything I wanted for my child, and she has exceeded far more than my expectations. A blessing really. Making sure my kid had things that I didn't was really important to me. A promise I was able to keep that I made to myself as a child, because I always swore that no kid of mine would have the child hood I had. Having said that there are things I want to do with my life that I haven't been able to do before now.

I really like to think of myself as a success. I know what its like to have nothing. And by nothing I mean nothing. Where the sum of who you are is what you are carrying with you. I had a lot of time to think about the reality and the philosophical ramifications of that. Almost everyday of my senior year in High School, as I usually hiked it 6-7 miles to make that happen. Even the physical part of that would later prepare me later in life. I did graduate. I did make it to college.

I have screwed up. By no means have I been perfect. I have done things to embarrass myself, been arrogant and a fool. Probably know every way its like to be on top and the next day be on the bottom.

Don't get me wrong, by most peoples definition I am far from rich. But in lot of ways I have learned so much from so many different lifes and roles I have participated in so far, that I don't ever feel less than any other. But thankfully I don't think myself as more either.

And I think its those things , now that I'm thinking about it that is making me feel old.

Sent via BlackBerry by AT&T

Spokeo.com Using Identity Theft as Extortion

In a typical gangster moving, there is usually at least one scene in which 2 or more gangsters will go into a business. The boss usually goes up and stands next to the business owner while the rest go about and destroy the store. The boss gangster guy then tells the owner looks like you need protection, or says you should have had protection to stop this from happening. Apparently this is the same technique that Spokeo.com is using.

I'm not opposed to phone books online. But Spokeo.com does take the phone book concept a little further. It displays your what it believes your address is in google maps street view, gives it out, your facebook page is attached, and some photos, and approximate income you make. That in itself is a tremendous invasion of privacy, jeopardizing anyone to criminal activity. Do you want to know what makes it worse? Its not accurate.

This picture is the disclaimer at the bottom of the Spokeo page. The reason there is two, is that the top one is the way it appears to everyone, and as you can see it almost unreadable the way it is done. I darkened the same picture and underline in red what is important on the bottom part. And I had to shrink my browser to put in the nice little square you see. The point is, it saying its not 100% accurate.

Well that's a good thing right? No it isn't. How many people shape their opinion of you after their first exposure to you. The reality is very few times in life do we get second chances. People like me have constant problems with name sames. There a couple of people where I live where we stay in contact with each other because people looking for one of us contact the wrong person because of our name sames. And its because we share the same name. You would be amazed how many people with common names have this problem. I'm sure its the same with John Smith, Tom Johnson, and Richard Davis of the world.

When I went on Spokeo, I had other people listed in my house hold, they had other name sames face book in my profile, and the credit rating for me was extremely far from the truth.

So here how problems happen with this data warehouses and their inaccuracies. One lets say Person A and Person B have the same name and live in the same neighborhood. Spokeo intermixes their data like they do. Person A is a pedophile, alcoholic and jobless. Person B is a person who has been a lawful abiding hardworking citizen. When Spokeo intermixes their data, someone who likes exposing pedophiles gets the wrong person, and ruins person B life because of wrong information they got from Spokeo. Or same instance where Employer is looking up Person B for a Job they are apply for, and according to Spokeo has a poor credit rating, and since they don't know what he looks like from his resume, assume the picture of Person A is him which depicts Person A chugging a Jack Daniels bottle .

Of course what if there was a father who was out to bring some pain to Person A and gets Person B address by mistake. Or what about criminals who are looking at potential robbery victims based on their credit profiles.

Spoke in their disclaimer are not obligated to being correct. So basically they are providing tabloid data. Its like seeing a national enquirer photo of Tom Cruise face photo shopped on an monkey. Except Spokeo doesn't make that clear that information can be grossly inaccurate. They do however offer two services because of the inaccuracies which is why I think they participating in a legal form of extortion.

This will take you to a place that will allow you to purchase more inaccurate data. Spokeo never claims accuracy but will charge you up to 79.95 for unverifiable information. You can find more unverifiable information on this person by their home address, reverse phone look up, social network, reverse email, mobile phone and wealth and credit rating. So they will charge people who look you up, to spread information associated with you, but not necessarily about you. It could be a name same, it could be someone who lived in your house with you, or before you. It could be based on your phone number, or the person that had it before you or after you. Your credit rating they used could be the person that lived at your house before you. But when people pay for that search, they will not have anything that verifies it is you. They will probably think it is, but it will not be.

And now to the extortion part of the program. They advertise on every page

This goes to a link of one of two sites, reputationdefender.com or identityforce.com . These sites are suppose to be identity theft protection sites, and they are suppose to help defend you against data mining sites like Spokeo itself. This is where I go and remind you to read the first paragraph of this blog again. If Spokeo.com recognizes the inherent dangers, potential harm, and unethical practice of gathering information so much that they advertise ways to stop it at a cost, is this not The very definition of extortion. They are getting money out of the advertisement.Maybe I'm seeing this wrong, but it's like Spokeo is advertising why you need to defend yourself against Spokeo.

I am on a mission today, and will send this out to my Congressman and asked them to make these type of sites illegal. Even with their disclaimer they have about not being able to use this site for credit reporting, I can see a lot of damage coming from this site, and sites like it just based on the careless way information and data is gathered on individuals. At the very least its a form of libel, because it displays information associated to a name or address that contains information they KNOW possibly is not true for that person.

This is something was pointed out to me from a friend in California, Karen. Political we are on the opposite sides of the spectrum, but I guarantee you we stand side by side in agreement that sites like this are wrong for everyone. This is at least 100 different ways where sites like this are ethically wrong, harmful, irresponsible, and potentially dangerous.

There has to be protections taken place here, to protect the privacy of individuals, just like there are Credit Reporting agencies and Medical Records. My basic belief is that no corporation has the right to influence the law. My belief is that Apple only objective was not to report the law was broken, but to teach Gizmodo a lesson. But the real lesson here is irresponsibility. And if I was Jason Chens attorney that's the route I would go. As a matter a fact I have thought about how various parts of the defense should be. And I am basing my thought on the recently unsealed warrants .

1. I would definitely demand Apple policy on prototypes products, specifically in regards to the normal procedures of security on all R&D of these prototypes.

2. Next I would establish a timeline of events, starting with when and how Gray Powell ever got the next g iphone into his possession to the time he got drunk and lost it, same with Brian Hogan, exactly when did he "find" the iphone and every move he did to get rid of it. A specific timeline of what happen in Gizmodo time of holding on to the phone to the time they returned it.

3. Verify the exact moment Apple reported it stolen.

4. Demand all communications that happen between Apple and any or all San Mateo employees regardless if they were police, District Attorney judges, and any of their family members. Definitely get a timeline.

5. Establish the relationship Matt Broad has with Apple. (head of react team) Find out if it is the norm to do a Search Warrant on a returned item. I would also establish what are the priorities of the react team, is the Priority's on stolen credit card or to do Steve Jobs bidding when the Apple Phone rings. What takes precedence, Online Predators, Intellectual Property, Con Jobs, crippling virus, or returned phones.

Why is number 1 the top thing to find out. Lots of reasons the first, liability on Apples part. Gray Powell lost the next Generation Iphone. What has apple done about his responsibility in exposing the Iphone to the public? If they are not going to even fire Gray, then how can they possibly say that Gizmodo did anything wrong. If they say he was field testing the phone in any way then they are responsible for exposing their phone to the public. You can't say a tech site was the only party showing off the Iphone if you let it out yourself for everyone to see. It makes you wonder how many of these phones are out in the public being field tested doesn't it. How responsible is apple for exposing itself? How can they claim it's top secret when they are showing it themselves?

Put it this way, that's like driving a top secret prototype car through Detroit. If drive it out in the open, then get drunk and forgot where you put the car with keys in it, whose fault is that? Driving it in public is exposing it yourself. Even if some guy did take it and sold it to Gizmodo, wouldn't you be grateful if that Gizmodo returned you the car, without asking you to pay for it? Would you really have the police go after him after he gave you the car back. I mean it would almost understandable that he ask you to prove it was yours first, wouldn't it.

Then there's the search warrant. WHY was it issued? Between Katherine Martinson witness statements on Brian Hogan, the Iphone being return, and Gizmodo online video of how exactly they got the Iphone, what purpose would the warrant serve? It wasn't exactly a mystery. Gizmodo returned the phone once they verified who the owner was.

Doesn't Detective Matthew Broad have more important things to do then busting down doors for property that has been returned to its owner? I mean shouldn't he be stopping online predators, or hackers breaking into banks, credit card schemes or something more important. I don't think the Tax Payers in San Mateo exactly like the idea of Detective Matthew Broad being Apples Bitch. But thats okay he apparently is not the only bitch, because there is the judge and District Attorney that went along with this. So that Makes Detective Mathew Broad the bottom bitch.

Which leads to was this warrant issued with out prejudice? Was this malicious prosecution? How many search warrants have you known to be issued when the property has been returned?

And if you notice not one of these arguments has been about journalism. I don't think Brian hogan is innocent, I believe he is guilty. He deliberately took something that wasn't his. Gizmodo is a tech site, and I'm sure they get all kinds of interesting tech stuff come there way. So for them to pay for tech stuff would not be uncommon nor unexpected. They did return the item, once they verified the owner.

Gray Powell, you must be extremely gifted. Whatever you do do not allowing Apple to have exclusive rights to your works. Apple is well known how viciously and systematically they guard their secrets, and how you are probably the only Apple employee that has gotten to keep his job in related circumstances. Their are many who have lost their jobs for much less. Instead of looking at this as a giant blunder, I would also look at this at how much you are valued.

Apple if you don't want your stuff to be seen in the public, don't let it out in the public.

Can we trust anyone involved in the Gulf Oil Disaster?

ABC News estimates that there could be as much as 25,000 barrels of oil in the Gulf now because of the Deepwater Horizon fire. Now that they are using three robots in position a hose to suck the oil to the surface they are telling us to relax because they have found a fix.

Well I'm not relaxed. The best estimate is that will only suck 75% at top levels and bring it to the surface. Well if its spewing 5,000 barrels a day now, and thats a conservative guess, it still means that 1,250 gallons are still coming out every day into the Gulf. My question is why are we still playing around with this Oil Company. Why are we not sealing this thing down period. Why are we not shutting it off. Every idea they come up with involves a way for the oil to still come to the surface. WHY??? Why are we not coming up with a plan that will stop 100% of the oil going into the Gulf?

Right now this Oil enema that we are getting from British Petroleum, is killing all the life in an ocean connected to the United States. When that life goes it will kill the economy of 4 states Coastal Communities.

Then comes the responsibility, and all the parties that told us that this was the most hi-tech, safest, and environmental friendly oil rig in the world are throwing each other under the bus to avoid responsibility for the worst man made disaster of all time. To make things worse, the Federal Government participation in this three ring circus, Minerals Management Service, apparently did not do its oversight like it was suppose to. Basically let them slide because they were so safe and hitech.

I'm under the opinion profit was the most important thing to all involved including the MMS was money and safety was not a consideration. Right now BP is more concerned on getting the oil they can up to the surface, even it means still dropping a thousand barrel a day into the gulf. I think that all three companies, BP, Transocean, and Haliburton need to have every Oil Lease, Government Contracts and anything else involved with US be frozen immediately until this Gulf Coast problem is fixed. All the leadership at the MMS needs to be fired and a new crew that is more concerned about the Safety of people and the ecology that these rigs are involved with, more important lets not forget those that died on the Deepwater Horizon when it caught on fire.

Since they can not be trusted, since they already lied about how safe and reliable there equipment and procedures are, I think we need experts come in that are not from BP, transocean or Haliburton. We also need our own eyes on the situation, meaning the US Government with our own robots or subs down there. We also need to have a plan that stops all oil, not just part of it, from leaking into the gulf. That means, even if it means to seal the oil from where it is coming out now and forcing BP, Transocean, and Haliburton to find a new hole to get to the oil later.

We need to have someone in charge, that is not responsible for the disaster in the first place.

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/greenspace/2010/05/gulf-oil-spill-federal-officials-to-be-grilled-by-congress.html

http://www.nola.com/news/gulf-oil-spill/index.ssf/2010/05/gulf_oil_spill_testimony_to_co.html

http://www.omaha.com/article/20100514/AP/705149818

Radical Blogger

Since I have recently dived into the world of blogging out on the web I have been blessed with many visitors from all over the world, and the United States. For the record I am a US citizen and I live in the middle of the country in Oklahoma. I say that because my opinions and attitude is American culture based on things like freedom expression and having my own belief is a right.

So when I am expressing myself either through blogging, twit, or comment entry. I really don't expect everyone to agree with me. In order to have a free world I would hope not. But man I have picked up a couple of haters.

Well this is for them. First I am no English major. I do misspell things and like this blog it was actually made on my blackberry. I should always do my best to use correct English, and don't mind being made fun of when I don't. Its the price to pay when you go public but more important, when trying to communicate a thought, you should do your best. What I find ridiculous is when someone is criminalizing me on my English and their use is worse than mine.

Which goes to my second thought, is those hateful bloggers that don't play by their own rules. There is this one video blogger who liked to drop the fbomb and defend Timothy McVeigh saying he is innocent of the Murrah Building bombing. She has a tiled wallpaper picture of her self with masking tape in a cross going over her mouth with the words censorship on it. She also has many tirades about how facebook, youtube and other internet sites always censor and block her views. Which made it really ironic when I posted my comment opposing her view on Oklahoma making an anti militia bill, she blocked me and posting her hateful response. Goes to show she wants what she doesn't want to give. I don't see her as some kind of person who has extreme right wing beliefs. If she was she would play by her own rules. No I see her as fox news wannabe who uses inflamatory subject matter trying to be (badly) the next ann coulter . Don't come to me about censorship when your worse than anyone you claim as your oppressor.

I blog about a lot of different things. Using one sentence Or part of a sentence will make you loose the context meaning of my sentence, paragraph or blog. I find it very cowardly of anyone, even mainstream journalist that don't put the entire article out or a link to the person they are quoting. If you don't have the full context of what they are saying, how can you possibly know they quoted correctly or in the right context. I can't make anyone put a link to my blog when they are quoting or mis quoting me, but I can say in my humble opinion, it goes to show the lack of credibility you have.

Also if you don't agree with me, please post a comment on my blog and don't send me a hateful twit. You might find someone that totally agrees with you that is a lifelong friend of mine. My people are not yes people and we don't always agree. But that is what makes them better friends and family is that we have our differences. It is what makes unique and interesting. But even I admit that when I blog a little bit of it is me being an attention seeking whore, why else would I post it on the internet. But when you come for me, have the decency and honor to do it correctly.

Sent via BlackBerry by AT&T

Why not plug the oil hole in the Gulf?

I am amazed that the biggest ecological disaster of all time, and how it became the biggest disaster of all time. While others speculate what caused the disaster, I am deeply concerned why it hasn't been stopped. I wonder if British Petroleum really wants to seal the hole. Why haven't we just closed it off with explosions? Are we avoiding the obvious course to seal this leak, in order to Allow BP to think of way of extracting oil without having to drill at a new site?

Why haven't we plugged the hole? I am deeply concerned as to why we allow the continued flow of oil so it can destroy all life in the Gulf, and destroy the economy of the local coastal communities that lie with in the tide of the death the oil brings. I mean why can't we send a sub down to fire a couple of torpedo's or other explosive device to seal the hole and stop the flow of toxicity.

Are we pandering to British Petroleum, letting them call the shots on what is becoming the largest man made disaster in history? I mean I can see why they don't want to seal the hole as it would be to great expense to them to get it back open, but does their profit line mean more than the life of an ocean, or the economy of hundreds if not thousands of coastal communities. What about the life that used to be in that sea that was killed?

Why are we letting the so called experts at British Petroleum be the lead on this? Aren't they ones that said this was the most advanced and safest oil rig ever? They were wrong about that weren't they and were letting them stay in charge?

Lets see we have the CORP of Engineers and we have those guys in Houston, umm, umm, NASA right ? Don't they know what the dust of the moon is like, or where to find Water on Mars right? Houston we have a problem, its in that pond your ass sits next tooo. Since you guys aren't doing any man missions for the next decade you think you could concentrate and seal a hole on this planet? I am betting you guys are smart enough to know how to use the resources from the Navy, like subs, and carriers to plug a hole?

So far it looks like the US Government is kissing the ASS of British Petroleum. We need to stop the oil from free flowing into the gulf. Before it destroys the gulf. There is no telling what kind of damage this going to do as nothing on this level has ever happen in such an open environment before.

I want to know why we are not on a full scale attack to stop this oil from flowing out. We know that their giant solid steel siphon hose didn't work, now let's try something that closes the hole. We really need to talk to those assholes that have sold themselves out to British Petroleum, and allow the US Coast line get turned into an oil slick.

If this not proof that our government is controlled by foreign entities, then I don't know what is. In my humble opinion, we should have sealed the hole from the beginning but the profit margin of a company was a higher priority then best interests of the American People. We need to get someone other than British Petroleum to advise us on how to seal the hole and stop this disaster from growing form where it is now.

I don't think sealing an oil hole is easy, but there has been more than enough time to gather the worlds best geologist and hydrologist to get the job done. Not to mention the Force of the United States Government.

OKLAHOMA NEW ANTI-ABORTION BILLS, HB2780 and HB2656

Before reading this, there are three things you need to know.

1. HB 2780 READ 2780 HERE

2. HB 2656 READ 2656 HERE

3. I am pro-life in the idea that I do not believe abortion should be used as birth control in anyway. If you can make a baby, you can raise one. In cases of Rape, then the women should decide. I consider incest a form of rape.

With the above being said, I don't believe that what I am about to say has any real bearing if your prochoice or prolife. The statements I am going to make are about piss poor laws.

2780 is a law requiring an ultra sound be taken 1 hour prior to any abortion. It requires the person getting an abortion sign off that they have had an ultra sound. They are however not required to look at the Ultra Sound. While I think it is a good idea to see what your about to do to a life, I find it completely stupid to have law that requires you to take a test that you do not look at. The doctors office is required to keep it for 7 years minimum. What purpose does it have if no one looks at it during that time.

I do have a major problem with HB 2656. In it states that a person can omit telling the mother the information about the baby (fetus) if they believe that information will lead to an abortion.

This is giving doctors a broad shield to protect themselves when they are incompetent, negligent or intentional causing harm. IF a doctor is doing any of these things all they have to say is that they believed she would abort the child. Its kind of like pleading the 5th.

So if you want to hold a doctor responsible now to do their job, an expectant mother will need to have that doctor to sign a document that they believed that mother wants to have a baby every time they visit a doctor. It is also the only way you can make sure that if your doctor did see something wrong that they TOLD YOU ABOUT IT.

Information about your child should be yours to know. IF it is a fetus or born. You should have access to the true status of your child at all times. This law allows doctors not to tell you things on their own discretion.

If your child does have problems and your doctor doesn't tell you about it, it could be stopping you from treating that child. Sometimes you can start to do things while your still pregnant, but if the doctor doesn't tell you, the doctor is endangering that child.

Now some have sent out some misguided facts about the bill, Like Mary Alice Carr article where she states 2780 forces people to see the sonogram. Which isn't true, it just requires them to take one, which I have stated earlier is ass ah nine. Her story is http://www.cnn.com/2010/OPINION/04/28/carr.abortion.oklahoma/

I have a friend who has written his opposing view to this law, which is http://endlessmonkeys.net/2010/05/oklahoma-house-bill-2656-not-anti-abortion/
. If you have your opinion on this let me know, or just post in the comments.

To summarize, I don't think either of these bills are really anti-abortion. I think one at best is pro-guilty and the other is explicitly designed to protect incompetent doctors from litigation.

Gulf Coast suffering, and Sarah Palin asking for More Coastal drilling

In reference to Sara palin post on facebook
http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=384560338434

Right now I'm thinking about my trip to Galveston in May. I'm thinking about what the Oil Spill will make Galveston look like from Coastal Hotel room. In the news I'm hearing about how the coastal economy of three states is going to get ruined because of this spill and how it is completely out of control. Not only the environmental damage but the economic damage its doing on coastal communities suffering in this current recession.

Yet there is Sara Palin in a facebook entry, recognizing the damage at this very location, saying she understands what its like, is defending this mistake as necessary for the progression of America. It's gonna be hard to convince these coastal communities that this mistake and others like it "will make us a more secure, prosperous, and peaceful nation" as these coastal communities see their lives goes lifeless like the sea that they have right before them.

It is almost obscene with the way she is out there defending the oil companies, and declaring that these communities must suffer for the greater good. I'm sorry but this shows to me that she is and has always been a sell out for the Oil Industry. Her lack of caring and support for the Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida Coastal communities is almost shocking, because these are red states. You would think she would allow for these communities some time to grieve the death of their futures before asking them to embrace what killed it.

Its pretty tasteless for anyone to do this.

She is in such a strong sell for the Oil companies in her face book entry that she doesn't recognize the damage economically these people face. She is so busy looking out for the interest of Wall Street Oil Companies that doesn't shine any light on for the main street small businesses, fisherman, canneries, or tourism that will be hurt by this oil spill. Doesn't say how they are going to need help. No she is asking these main street people to accept the damage to their business and lives, and to help this to happen to other communities like them. She wants them to celebrate their sacrifice so big corporate oil can survive on their loss.

This is who Sara Palin is. When the people are suffering at the mistake of a big oil company, shes defending the oil company. And the Tea party has to pay her $100 grand for each appearance she makes on their behalf. What kind of person can defend those that make others suffer.

I already do not like Sara palin. She is a proven quitter and she will say anything you want her to as long as she can use her hand to keep notes and you pay her $100 grand per appearance. But my god, Somebody stop her from pouring salt on the wounds of American people who are suffering, that were probably at one time her people. To put it simply, tell her to stop talking about defending a policy to a group of people whose lives are being ruined by it.

"Stupid is as Stupid does" Forrest Gump.

Dear Apple, Is an Apple Boycott needed?

Dear Apple,

I love your products and I find them innovative and unique. However, your tactics of fear and intimidation against Jason Chen for doing his job has left me questioning why I should support your company.

First your employee, is the breach of security your trying to frame upon Jason Chen. Lets face it, if this dumbass wasn't a drunk carrying a top secret high profile prototype outside of a secure location, this whole problem would have never happened. So instead of firing him, and holding financially liable for the damage he caused you go after someone who basically has given you free advertisement on your products in the past. Someone whom used your products himself.

In a time where corporations have manipulated Government, you picked a wrong time to use your influence to get a search warrant based on false charges. We all know you did it just to try to teach someone a lesson. You want to make an example out of someone for doing the very thing that benefited your company in the past.

You then file charges of stolen property, after it was returned to you? What kind of dirtbag move is that? That alone should have everyone boycotting you.

Yes Jason Chen took advantage of an opportunity that came available to him. But the mistake wasn't his. He didn't walk into apple and steal it. Some drunk left it in a bar.

IF you don't apologize to Jason Chen, maybe the world shouldn't have the best stuff. If it means that buying the best stuff is feeding the arrogance of a company that believes it is above the law. In this day and time, it's company's like that nearly gave us the depression back. Yes you have cool stuff, but it's not worth it to me if your the shiny apple in the garden of Eden.

References:
http://gizmodo.com/5520438/how-apple-lost-the-next-iphone

Apple using police to do its bidding.

Here is an example of the police being owned by a corporation. For those of you who are unaware, a tech website Gizmodo recently talked about the next generation IPHONE that they claim was found in a bar. They openly said the bought it for $5000 so they could take a look at it, and so they could show the world what they found. This link is their originally story released by them, http://gizmodo.com/5520164/this-is-apples-next-iphone, and this link is the story about how they returned the iphone http://www.usatoday.com/tech/products/2010-04-20-iphone_N.htm .

Now Gizmodo is a tech review site, basically where the newest and coolest tech stuff is reviewed. It is what they do, and they have been doing it for awhile. Gizmodo openly described how they obtained the phone, and returned the phone when asked to. They are out of their $5000, but said that it was worth it to be one of the first to review it. And after returning it probably thought they had the scoop of their career.

Now Apple shows its ugly face. In what probably is the most bold example of a corporation getting its way and controlling both police and judges, exert their power and influence by obtaining what I believe is in improper writ to illegally seize the computers of Jason Chen. They are saying they are doing so under Penal Code Section 1524. Where an item is used in a felony.

The item in question was returned. At no time did Jason Chen refuse to cooperate with police prior to the writ being issued. At no time did he refuse to cooperate with Apple. Apple has not stated the item stolen prior to the writ, and neither did the owner who lost it, an apple employee.

The writ to seize the computers was against an established Journalist, who under California Law is protected against these type searches.

This goes to show the abuse of power of Corporation have on law enforcement and the courts. This is a solid demonstration of corruption in the Judicial branch of San mateo County. Who issues a felony writ when the owner of the stolen property has it in their possession? What felony has been committed if their is no stolen property? There is absolutely no evidence of any wrong doing except the Apple Employee that 1) took a prototype off of corporate grounds and 2) Lost the prototype. And we should note that Apple is not saying that this isn't what took place.

This writ happened to see if there was any evidence of a crime. You can not invade a persons property on the basis of looking for evidence of a crime that might have happened. You have to base it on a crime that took place. What you have here is Apple, whose products I love, used its corporate might and abused the law.

I have problem with that because not only are they violating freedom of speech, but they are using intimidation. Corporations do not get special rights, or get to change the law of the land when its convenient for them.

On the basis of the facts so far I believe Jason Chen should get his equipment back, and sue San Mateo for Malicious prosecution. The Judge should be disbarred Apple should be responsible for all the costs that San Mateo county has put forth on the illegal search and seizure of Jason Chen, and looked into for any corruption charges for causing this to get this far.

Are we becoming our enemy?

There's a facebook page out there intended for laughs for the right wing side of politics that is causing quite a stir. Maybe you've seen it, it states "DEAR LORD, THIS YEAR YOU TOOK MY FAVORITE ACTOR, PATRICK SWAYZIE. YOU TOOK MY FAVORITE ACTRESS, FARAH FAWCETT. YOU TOOK MY FAVORITE SINGER, MICHAEL JACKSON. I JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW, MY FAVORITE PRESIDENT IS BARACK OBAMA. AMEN."

Well this page has caused a lot of controversy, and I have seen this with my own circle of friends. I see it causing division, people de-friending each other over this on Facebook. And it makes me think, I have seen this before. Many times in history, but almost one of those things that define the era I live in.

One of the things I have posted on this subject is, "Me personally, I'm offended that its manipulating christian religion that way. Kind of like the Muslims who manipulate their religion to justify terrorism." It is based on the idea that I used to think people who use religion to justify killing people, were terrorist. With the majority of them being overseas in the middle east. And any Group of People that believed this way in the United States were of some kind of Cult of only crazy people. My thinking was being mostly Christian influenced there is no way we would ask God to violate one his own 10 commandments. These virtues being so entrenched in our core that the very idea of thinking about asking God to do such an act would be offensive.

Also maybe it's because I have given great thought about the enemies of the United States. I posted the following " I would just like to state that there are groups in the world that use their god to pray for the death of people. And people like me who have been in the army while at war with them can be very touchy about anyone using any religion, even in a joke, to wish that on anyone. But I have a different perspective, maybe you should try defending yourself against bombs and bullets against people who pray to their god to get you killed before you can understand why some people who stood up for freedom of belief, find the idea of praying for someones death offensive."

And along those lines, when did this type of humor become acceptable? Maybe that's the true nature of this evil. Where it comes in so innocent, that then gets more and more acceptance until it crosses over from a Joke to a calling. This type of speech is the standard way of how politics is handled in the Middle East. Are Christians in America becoming More like Middle East Muslims? Are we allowing extremism into our lives?. Allowing those who promote it to control the way we think and believe. Should we allow fear and ignorance be what motivates us?

I say HELL NO! We don't have to agree with each other, but at the same time we do not need to walk away from each other. We must be above this. We as individuals need to be the base point where we realize we are not agree with each other, and that's okay. We have to work out our disagreements and realize that we all may need to come to a compromise, that is the best for all involved. People tell me all the time there is no way it can be done. We compromise all the time, with our spouses, with our job, with our clients, with our customers, our families. And a lot of time it's on things we believe we are completely right about, and the other side is completely wrong about . But we do this to move forward.

One of the things I felt the entire time I was in US ARMY was that I was defending America. Against both Domestic and Foreign threats against it. Its part of the oath you take. With this idea I fight for all of America, not for one political party. Not for one religion. Not for one state. The whole package, including those parts I don't agree with.

This is about who we are in America now. This isn't about freedom of speech. It is more about why some people think that asking god to kill anyone is funny for any reason.

Increase of Earthquakes in Oklahoma

This might bore you but your free to click somewhere else. If you know me, you know I always have kept track of earthquakes. It's a fascination I picked up while working at the OU Geology department. I helped gather data for professor once, and I never really have stopped.

Anyways, I felt like there has been an increase of Earthquakes lately so I went looking for some data. So I went to the NEIC, and pulled this data http://tinyurl.com/2e56ke3 . Here is a data grid of that information as for a count , http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=1240366&l=697c8ebcaa&id=1298934176 (left)

So what you see is the highest double digit year count of all earthquakes was in 1987 with 20 earthquakes. In 1986 there was 17, and in 1988 10 measurable earth quakes. Next 3 years were a total of 5 earthquakes, in 1992 there was 13. The next 16 years, 8 would be the highest in any year.

2009 rolls in and shatters two distinct earthquake records. One total in one year, 49 beating the previous record 200% +. And the most earthquakes in one month 12 in August and 10 in December. There was never a month before that ever hit the double digits or gone past 4 earthquakes in one month. there is a fault line in Oklahoma, but the earthquakes are not near it. It's down by Lawton Oklahoma.

2010 is already at 37, were still in the first third of the year. At this rate we will match last years record in the first 5 months.

Now that it is clear there has been a considerable increase in Earthquakes, measurable data to back it up, I am know going to look at the relationship of these earthquakes to others around the world.

April 19th, 1995 I do remember.

When I awoke on April 19th 1995, I remember I had to rush downtown to get some claims filed. I rushed down there, it was to the Federal Court House which was a building right beside the Alfred P Murrah building. I was stuck talking to a few attorneys about their claims. I didn't get out of the building until about 8:40 was in my car by 8:45 and made it to my job around 9:00. I rushed into work trying to make it in by 9am, and thats when this force from behind me hit me. I was blown into a delivery truck grill from a force that could be considered a strong wind.

A warehouse guy, and the truck driver came out to help me, we all looked at downtown to see the mini white mushroom cloud rise above the middle of OKC downtown. I was speculating with the truck driver how it sounded like a howitzer, he was Field Artillery in the Military.

I walked into my office, and everyone asked me what the big bang was, did a truck hit the building backing in. No I explained to them it wasn't that. We listened on the radio as a female reporter was trying to explain that she was driving and her car was blown sideways from the explosion which at the time she was describing as gas leak explosion.

ONe of my employees had their spouse working downtown. He couldn't reach her because 20 minutes after the explosion every landline and cell phone was down. So I sent everyone home and went with him.

First you have to understand I was in shock when I went into downtown. You remember I was just there. When I left it was Oklahoma City, when I came back it was Beirut. All the glass was broken. You never realize how much glass there is in a city, until its gone. There was damages in buildings blocks away, that had buildings between them and the Murrah building. People were not leaving their offices, because they were scared. When I was driving in, I could see people standing pointing out of the broken glass windows towards the Murrah building.

I noticed the white stream coming from St Anthonys hospital where Doctors and nurses were coming on foot towards downtown. There was a massive cooperative effort taking place at the Murrah Building. People were grouping together to remove the rubble. I saw a homeless guy and a banker working together. Then it occured to me how everyone was just pitching in to help out. Thats the cooperative spirit of Americans taking care of Americans in a crisis. Unlike 911, it was the people on the ground first.

They were looking for three arab guys at first. I remember that distinctly. The news was pushing the fact that it was a daycare that got blown up. That day when I went to go pick up my daughter from a daycare in Bethany, there were reporters in there. I yelled at the daycare center, asking them why these strangers were allowed in, to scare the hell out of the kids. When they stuck a camera in my face, I demanded that they leave using a lot of four letter words. They did. I thought I might have done the wrong thing cussing in front of the kids, but a couple of the moms came up and said thank you. We were all scared, and when I thought of it I was more scared that these reporters were broadcasting this location for this day care center.

It was a horrible experience. I can't really say a lot of these people I knew, but I did know some. I recognized a lot of them because or working close with some of them professional and in the military. (The Murrah building housed a lot of recruiting stations both Military and Civilian).

The phones stayed out for three days. My parents finally got hold of me on the third day. Everyone was relieved that I was alive, because they all knew I had to go downtown a lot with the job I had.

For the next two weeks I would come home and my wife would be crying in front of the Television.

Years later when 911 happened, it was that same sickening numb feeling. I remember thinking to myself looking at the twin towers falling, I thought this would never happen again.

In OKC however, they fought to try their terrorist. They didn't want to hold the trial there, but the people demanded it.

April 19th to me is a memorial day. I do not like any other event to happen on that day because of it. I don't mind going to work on that day, because I went to work on April 19th, 1995. I usually feel okay about 9:30am, because the phones still work. Thats my assurance that today its going to be okay.

My Blackberry life

Some people complain or they feel like they are chained to their blackberry. I do not. I find smart phones amazing with all the things they can do. I really do use my blackberry for its purpose as a communication device. This blog post was written from my blackberry.

When I awoke this morning I could see everything on my work schedule, which is constantly being updated. This schedule is updated 18 hours a day 6 days awake on an average of about three changes an hour by three different people. Now to most people this real boring stuff, but it provides an integration between three departments instantaneously. Not only is this productive and efficient but this was a unique forward thinking way of using blackberry messenger for a solution to a communication problem. The same thing could probably be done using Google calendar and any internet compatible phone, but bb messenger has a nice app that ties everyone in certain group together in a very easy way. sign in and invite who you want in your group. Done. Plus your group has instant shared messenging which acts like forum for your group. Plus it allows you too instantly share files.

But its Saturday and I was instantly updated everything I needed to know about work in an minute. So after checking my email and reading news reports I plug my blackberry into my treadmill and rock out to my music I have stored on it. I keep record of my workout on an xls sheet so I can see where I am at. Most of my daily health stuff is in their. I have wireless blue tooth headset, a motorola rockr, but not needed for my treadmill. After the workout I look at facebook and twitter.

Oh yeah now I'm up and I am going out today so I'm going to have to use my phone to make a phone call. What I like about blackberrys is multitasking. I typed part of this blog while talking to my family on a phone call. Some phones don't allow it. I can't live without it. Another thing I like about my blackberry is the copy paste. That aspect of it makes using my blackberry more like a computer.

So I check when the movie is going to run, and hop onto facebook and twitter to see what people think about it. The only thing I wish for on my blackberry is a better browser, but I think most smart phone users feel that way. Fortunately much like iphones, there's an app for it. Bolt is about the best browser out there for any smart phone. But I use facebook app when I want to facebook and ubertwitter for tweeting.

Recently blackberry releases a free version of their business application called blackberry enterprise server express. If you are a smaller company less than 75 people and you want to have wireless synchronization this is the best way to go. My boss loved the price. I loved the ease of use. The only time I hook up my phone to sync is when I am updating my mp3 , or transferring pictures from my phone or video.

So with my blackberry I feel connected to the world. While I talked a lot about what blackberry has to offer, the other smart phones have their value to their users. I like the keys on a blackberry. There is no guessing if I have hit the right key. I don't need a real big phone either. If I needed something big then I'm looking at a kendal or ipad or laptop. But that's another blog. My friends like to joke about my roller ball. But again I like the control. There's less accidental clicking. But I do admit touchscreens are cool. But they consume a lot of battery juice.

How do you live your life?

Sent via BlackBerry by AT&T

Social media social responsibility

There was time in my lifetime the only social faux pau I had to worry about is saying or doing something wrong with the wrong person in the room. Now with the internet one click away from a cell phone that almost every American has on them, a single innocent mistake can turn someone instantly into a social pariah.

Even gossip has changed, where one juicy tidbit can travel through an entire college, high school or job in mere minutes. This is where what everyone thinks its true or partly true just because everyone is talking about it.

This is where our social responsibility must come into play. Where we have to vet our information sources like columnist for a major newspaper. We have responsibility to verify the information we receive and verify its truth, and that's just for our selves. If we pass on information we receive then we have to do our due diligence. We need to verify of the credibility of the bullshit we are repeating.

It is completely scary to me the danger each of us have over each other. Because once we toss something out into cyber space, you generally can't get it back, and the more scandalous it is the more likely it will grow uncontrollably. How often has a typo completely changed the perception of a person. How often has blurb changed the life of another individual.

Now if your the kind of person who loves chaos this is meaningless for you. But for those of us who are tired of rumor mill journalism and instantaneous news, I realize that the responsibility falls upon us each individually. WE NEED TO GET IT RIGHT.

Sent via BlackBerry by AT&T

Chat Roulette

The newest internet have to.. This site was created by a Russian 17 year old boy who just wanted to meet more people in the world. What it does is that when you get go to the site you are setup in a flash-video chat and a random person for you to chat with comes up. I think it is a neat idea. Unfortunately this cool concept is being corrupted by the internet demented.

If you want bear witness to some of the strange of the internet then I suggest you come and visit this site. Last night I got on here and it seemed like every other person was a jack off. And when I say jack off, I meaning some guy jacking off. Pretty disturbing for a straight guy like myself, but then I realized they could hear me because mic is on. I then put up a Sheriffs Plaque with the following words saying "YOUR BUSTED, your Ip has been traced and Your ISP will receive a court order for your address".

Funny thing as I was going through there. The only girl of the night that pops up just as my wife walked in. Who when it comes to the internet doesn't understand some of the weird shit that comes on. She thinks I've been talking to girls all night. She obviously has no idea of what this particular site is. And for all I know, it was probably some guy in drag.

The problem with this is that I did see some young people on this. It is not a place for kids. There is no screening or login for this site and does not have anything in place that I can see that is enforcing its own rules.

While the concept is cool, those deviants that are ruining it are making it something that I will block from my job. Until there can be controls put into place on this there is no way.

I'll admit it can be funny as hell to roll through there, but that's for adults who can handle Rated X material, because it is so random you don't know what will pop up.

Some of the good points on this I did talk to a guy in Moscow. It was interesting to see what someones perspective is from that country for me. I also was able to speak to someone one the Netherlands. I talked about computers and software with many people because of the software I was using with my camera. So it isn't all bad.

This is probably a great idea that a 17 year old came up with, but that same 17 year old doesn't know how to censor the bad people out of it.

The Bucket List projects - Project One - Second Step

This is a continuation from my blog that I am keeping on how I am developing an idea out, and the steps I'm taking for it. My idea is for my Make Your Adventure Internet Book, which I will call AMP1.

I have the concept down, and the story line seems to pour out of me too easily.

The concept is having at least a picture on every page, or video that makes up the top part of the page maybe 800x500 pixels. Below it will be the story. Below that will be any additional media like audio or references. The image will probably be how you will pick your next leg in your adventure. This will be an image map or probably a flash file.

I am wanting to use the images as part of the story, and have the audio to help enhance it.

Since this is a make your own adventure story, I am trying to see how to make that part really work. The idea is that because of the different options or choices you make there will be different outcomes. To make this possible there is a main story or adventure, but included in that are 5 strong sub stories or adventures. That part is easy as it outlines if you make all the right choices, what your stories are.

But there also has to be wrong choices or side way choices. Wrong choices cause bad things like ending your story early or making you go back to a point earlier in the story. Side way choices are those that don't make you move forward or backwards. Side way choices can be good and bad. Good that they give you more story to know about, bad because you could be switching from one adventure to another.

So this makes up how I am going to create my choice matrix.IF I make up static web pages (individual ones) I could be required to make literally hundreds if not thousands of pages. Not to mention all the media I want to include.

Next is a database option. Probably PHP and Mysql. This is a more practical option since I could put the story line, choices, and end story events into one database. It also allows me to have log ins and give visitors the option to read different story lines, save where they are in a story. While I am an IT guy, I have gone into a very lengthy discussion with it buddies of mine on how to create this. It always boils down to the choice matrix I will need to make.

Basically if you think of a web, that's usually a 2 dimensional interconnection. My Choice matrix will need to be a 3 dimensional web.

The Bucket List projects - Project One - First Step

My first project I will be working on is a make your own adventure, internet book. So to create such a beast I went looking for a mind mapping program to help me develope a story line and keep track of it properly. After reviewing a few of these, I realized that I will probably be using this mind mapping program for all my projects.
If you don't know what these are, I suggest you google it , and see if its something that will help you.

Mind Mapping is basically a way to have an idea, and show a flow chart of it. The software out there allows you to link videos, web pages, text files and pictures.

VUE MIND MAP

Anyways there are many mind-mapping programs, I have downloaded both Free Mind and Vue. I will probably use FreeMind to help me on the Job, But I will be using VUE on my creative at home projects. There are many more out there but these two provide me the type of structure I am looking for. Some of them create Mind maps that Andy Warhol would be proud of. Not what I was looking for.

In my make your own adventure internet book, I will include all kinds of media from audio to video. The hard part as always is coming up with a compelling enough story that people would want to follow. I am debating on getting actors to take pictures of for this adventure, or creating them virtually. Virtual actors are a pain but they are willing to work anytime and cost nothing.

Let Entertainers Entertain

Have you ever seen a famous or semi-famous person before? I recently have both. It made me painfully aware of how social psychology of groups of people are. You have those people that are drawn to famous people, and those that despise them because of their success. It pisses me off that people have to find ugly somebody else to feel better about themselves. Especially from someone that has never done any harm to them whatsoever.

I have to admit you are usually going to fall into one of these two groups. The idea is basically famous or not, people are human. While some don't handle fame well, some do. Right now I'm sticking with those that are in some part of the entertainment industry. Just because someone is famous I don't think it's right for people hanging out in trees in their house taking pictures of them in their home. To me if an Entertainer isn't entertaining, they are off the clock. I would hate it if a complete stranger kept bothering me and my family during dinner while we are out to eat. Or just being in any public spot and having people stare at your every move. It's bad enough when your in trouble, and everyone else knows it but you.

You know if they are at a movie premier, and those stupid paparazzi shout out the meaniest most vile things to get a reaction from movie stars make me sick. Because I have heard an uncensored version of the walk through at some of these events. If that was my family coming through there and people were saying these things, I would be thrown in jail to stop it. I don't have much of a problem at premiers, book signings or other promotional events. I just don't think because someone is famous you should be able to be rude and mean to them. You should treat them just like any other complete stranger. IF you want to cheer them on for a great performance then by all means do so. But do it when they are on the clock.

There was a weather person from a local newspaper one night coming out of a local grocery store. He ducked his head and I thought to myself at the time that was pretty arrogant. I'm not going to chase down a weather person and rave about how well he is able to look at the window and tell me what's happening. But then I thought they to probably have the same problem, just on a local scale. I mean it was midnight and we were both stuck picking up last minute items our spouse probably sent out to get. And he even has people who want to touch a little bit a fame and become his best friend, while all he's trying to do is get stuff for dinner without hurting anyone's feelings.

So I am of the opinion that If I ever see a famous person on any caliber, I will treat them on the basis of how well I know them. I will talk to them the same way I talk to other strangers I meet. IF I'm in a restaurant and they are eating, they are going to be able to finish their meal without me interrupting them. If they are out shopping for Christmas things, then they won't have to worry about making that experience any worse than it already is.

My thought is this, they are like us. They have a job. But everything has a cost. While I admit there are people out there I like in the entertainment world, that I would like to meet, I'm not going to make an ass out of myself to make it happen. If it happens organically, then it happens. Until then, I want them to entertain me because that's the part of them that I get to know. It's the only part I know.

And yes I spotted someone of fame and fortune from the entertainment world. And they looked at me and they knew I recognized them. You could the anxiety go over this persons face. They were obvisouly with people that were close to them. I just raised my hand to let them know it was OK and went on my way. Rupert Murdoch controls everyone one of his henchmen and does not allow them to be real news people anymore. They are so soft on Republicans, they might as well give them back rubs on national TV. Orielly pardons Huckabee? Orielly has just become a pin head in my book. IF there was any democrat that had done that, then Orielly himself would attack the stupidity of releasing a person early from their Jail Sentence. It would be a Happy day at fox as they would all gather around and feast on the Democrat that released a criminal 90 years early from his sentence. But instead, it was one of their own. And since they have no soul, no journalistic integrity, no personal ethics, or moral compass to guide them, they Allow Mike Huckabee a free pass. Like he had no other choice but sign Maurice Clemons pardon.

It just goes to show you, Rupert Murdoch isn't in to the truth. He's into selling images.

IF fox was fair and balanced, I'm sorry but they should be dressing down Huckabee just like if it was a democrat that had pardoned a criminal 90 years early. And I am writing this I am sitting waiting for full moon to start.
Well I'm going to say I really like "All Saints Day". It was in the style of the original but it did have a new story line. Which grateful and the other part that made it wonderful was the entire audience I was with were boondock saints fans. Which made it nice as some of the funny parts required knowing what was in the first one. If I was going to be a vigilante it would be one of these brothers. It was obvious to me that this movie did set up specifically for a third movie.

I was pleasantly surprised at some of the plot twists. What was really surprising is that no theater was showing it on it's intial release date. Mind you this sequel that is about 5 years late for me, is surprisingly good. Some may have thought it as not as good as the original, but for me it was good because it didn't constantly try to go back to the original. It did do follow the same rules the first movie set out. Meaning it carried the same atmosphere as the same movie. IF you want an example of movies that didn't follow the rules of the first movie, look at highlander, and high lander 2. But I digress.

IF you were a fan of the first movie than without question you will be a fan of the second movie. All though I have to admit it looks definitely like a setup for a third movie.

As far as Full Moon. My wife loves that book series. Needless to say I didn't read the book or the series. While I found the first movie a rent it movie, the second movie seemed to me be a very stretched out goth version with a love triangle of romeo & juliet. I also believe that , and maybe because I'm a guy, vampires should be tough, scary and mean. Not the kind that when I look at them I feel I could kick their ass. And I know I'm not the first person to say that, however, I agree with it 100 percent.

Sent via BlackBerry by AT&T

Fox again organizing and creating a grassroots movement

What fox is doing is treason. I don't know why rupert murdoch is doing his best to pour salt in the wounds of 911 victims but I believe its to drum up ratings for his cable network. They are now organizing people to protest against the terrorist trials in NYC. Being from OKC I can tell you we wanted Timothy Mcveigh tried in our city. We wanted to witness justice carried out. But fox needs it ratings so it is tring to fill the people of new york with fear.

What FOX is trying to say is that the people of New York are afraid. They too weak to have the Trial there. People don't want to see justice carried out in their city. FOX is saying all of New York City are victims too scared to handle a trial

I say to fox screw you. OKC was a lot smaller and lot nicer than NYC. FOX needs to drop the news out their name. They are to busy creating news than reporting it. FOX NEWS just replaced the National Inquirer on the news they make for themselves.

It's disgusting and insulting what Fox news is doing to the people of New York and portraying them as. New York be strong like OKC was and stand up to terrorism. Do not let some a cable company try to sell ratings and political agenda deter you from getting the justice you deserve. IN OKC Timothy McVeigh had to have a team of protection and bullet proof vest wherever he went. Thats because when he was on trial, he's life was the one that needed to be protected in OKC. Because everyone in OKC was just hoping for an opportunity to get at him. We dared him to escape into our city.

Reasons why I hate Glen Beck

The number one reason I hate Glen Beck is that he sells fear. And he's good at it. He's an insurance salesman who's convincing you that your gonna die, and most of his audience are hypochondriacs.

Yes I will agree that some of the things he says is correct. When David Koresh and Jim Jones quoted the bible, they were saying the scriptures word for word. Like those two preachers, just because they can qoute it correctly doesn't mean they are following it correctly, or the way you should. Basically I'm saying if someone is in a leader position, you shouldn't be required to drink the Kool Aid.

Most of the people that do follow him refuse to see him as the salesman he is. He makes money being the false prophet that he is. Want to check his sincerity and conviction, ask him if he is an entertainer or a reporter. Like Rush Limbaugh, he will say entertainer. That's because an entertainer can joke around, kid, and not be held by any ethical and legal boundaries that require him to tell the truth.

I have said this example before, IF Glen Beck was going for the UFO crowd, he would be the guy with the book on anal probing, and charging you $50 a seat to listen to him cry about it.

People say Glen Beck isn't hateful. Well I say try this as an experiment, on him, or anyone at fox, rush limbaug or even tthat republican media ho Ann Coulter. Take anything they have said speech or otherwise, replace the left, liberal, or democrat with Jew. Tell me what it sounds like then. Glen Beck hate speech another reason why I don't like him.

Glen Beck constantly contradicts himself.

Glen Beck doesn't hold Republicans to the same standard as he holds democrats.

Glen Beck is the used car sales man of the Fox network.

A quick blog to test out sms blogging at blogger. The main reason it's 100 photoshop images of me, is I know I won't sue me for using an image of myself. Also I know I won't be hurting my feelings. I have an open offer that anyone who would like to participate just let me know.

So I advertised on Facebook at the launch of this project. My first request came from Rhys. Somebody who is an aspiring photographer, and is busy literally running around the world. So I thought why not, he requested an image of me as a wrestler. Wasn't that hard. That's my head.

So that wasn't that much of a challenge. Although the coloring was what took me the longest. Some people my not know this but I am not really using photoshop. I am using something called the Gimp. It's Free. However it's not as polished as photoshop. Hence, 100 images to practice to make myself better. If you want to get the Gimp to make images , the link is here. I am a big freeware and open source supporter. Especially when it comes to what I like to call tools.

Okay easy enough. This is actually 5 pictures of me, in the same room just at different times. To make it faster for me, I just left the webcam on in video mode, and pulled out 5 pics of me screwing around. So basically 5 layers with each layer having a cutout on the 4 top layers.

Here is the last suggestion I COMPLETED. There was one more I just haven't got around to it. I like the idea of putting me up on Times Square. Just in reality, who would see it?

First Blog

Hi internet world. I thought I would have some place to give my rants to. I'm using blogger because some of my rants will be directly from my Black Berry. So I just wanted a place that it could go to.

My Blog will be mostly based upon my opinion, popular subjects and things computer related. While I am a registered Democrat, I am finding reasons to hate both parties lately. My biggest fear is that I will start to think since both sides do it wrong maybe it's time for me to step up to do it the correct way.

I honestly can see my blog being just loggeria that gets let out at the end of the day. But you never know maybe somebody will actually pay attention to me, and respond to my rants. But if my history is an indicator of how well received I normally am, I will probably will get more hate mail due to my rotten spelling.
